In a piece of news from the BBC and Hotels.com that should surprise… well – no one,, a survey on hotel rooms prices in London for August 2012 has been released.
And sadly, it is a case of “Rip off Britain” with hoteliers cashing in with a 102% rise on last years rates.
Hotels.com state the average price of a hotel room in London will be £213 a night.
This compares with a general 4% rise in room-rates worldwide in the year 2010/2011.
So, if you’re planning to go to London 2012 Olympic games, you should had locked in those rooms long ago. That or plan to commute into London for events.
The report doesn’t highlight however how many rooms are still available, and there is an excellent chance of stock being dumped back onto the market at “normal” rates towards the beginning of the games when hoteliers realise that they can’t shift the rooms in time for the games.
If you’re hunting for hotel rooms for the games… how lucky do you feel?
