Thomson Airways have today confirmed the first destinations for their batch of 787-8 Dreamliners.
Thomson Airways is intending to operate the aircraft from Gatwick, Manchester, East Midlands and Glasgow to Cancun and Florida from 1st May 2013. They will also beat other UK operators to the punch being the first operator of the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner in the UK.
For those of you scratching your head and wondering who Thomson are, they are a leisure and charter airline, operating a fair sized fleet of Airbus A320’s, A321’s, Boeing 737-300, 737-800, 757-200 and 767-300ER’s operating both European Shorthaul and Long Haul Services. They’re own by TUI Travel – and some of us who have a few grey hairs will remember Thomson Airways better as Britannia Airways.
Sadly, no seating layouts have been announced yet, but in long haul configurations Thomson have tended to be more generous down the back than some carriers – 33″ in Economy (compared to Virgin or British Airways who fit 31″ Seat pitches).
