Scoot is making headway as it progresses towards operations – and as well as planning to fly to Sydney and the Gold Coast, Bangkok is now on the radar.
This put Scoot in all sorts of fun as there is major competition on this segment. A short list of who fighting for passengers
- Singapore Airlines
- Tiger Airways (who are part owned by Singapore Airlines)
- Thai Airways International
- Air Asia
- Cathay Pacfic
- JetStar
Scoot seems to have had demand for Bangkok from their passengers, and for Scoot the benefits are two-fold – it starts to build a regional feed for them and it also allows better aircraft utilisation – which has been a major problem for the low cost carriers trying to run long haul services
Whilst Scoot commences its services on 4th of June, offering services to Sydney and the Gold Coast, China is on Scoot’s radar for the year.
No date has been set for the Bangkok service yet, but it is starting to look like Scoot is growing at its own speed – and utilising the aircraft it has properly – the signs of a growing LCC…

It is interesting when will be the first fly to Sydney and the Gold Coast ? This six company are fighting for us, but one of them is the best. For me Singapore Airlines is the better and then Air Asia… These Two are the best !!!

There will be nothing like a good olde fashioned price war to sort this one out.
Scoot seem to have the right idea with turnaround times – the one thing that made Air Asia, EasyJet and Ryan successful – by minimising the turnaround time you can get more utilisation out of the aircraft – that’s hard to do with longhaul services.
The real fun will hit when Cebu Pacific throw their lot in with their A330s…
