EVA Air to expand 777 operations

08/05/2012 by Kevincm

EVA Air is gearing up for an expansion of its Boeing 777-300ER fleet, with announcement of seven more aircraft to join the fleet

Deliveries will begin from 2014, and the airline expects to receive all of the aircraft by 2016.

Looking at the EVA Air fleet, it’s clear to see what the 777-300ER’s are going to be used for – there are currently 7 Boeing 747-400’s of two subtypes in their current fleet (the baseline passenger version and the Combi-cargo) – looking like a straight swap of a 747 for a 777-300ER.

For EVA Air, this comes at an important time as they work to become Star Alliance members, so the new fleet will be welcome in 2014 when hopefully, they will have little logos on the doors of their planes.

For all the Hello Kitty fans, no news yet if Kitty-chan will be appearing on the exterior of the airline’s 777’s… yet
