Viva Las Vegas! British Airways to open 2nd Route to Vegas…

17/05/2012 by Kevincm

Bright lights, gambling, fountains, shows, taxi drivers who I swear use the fastest meters in the west – it can only be Las Vegas.

British Airways returned to Vegas a couple of years ago, operating a route from London Heathrow.

Well it seems BA want more of the leisure market, with services to commence from London Gatwick.

The service is schedule to begin on the 29th October, running as follows three times a week:

BA2277 DEPART LGW 11:30 ARRIVE LAS 14:05
BA2276 DEPART LAS 15:55 ARRIVE LGW 09:45+1

Operates from 29/OCT/2012
Operates Monday, Wednesday, Saturday both directions
Booked Equipment: Boeing 777, 3 Class Equipment

The plane is booked for Three-Class Equipment, operating Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller (Business, Premium Economy and Economy).

Those of you who want First Class, or a proper widebody can still use the London Heathrow to Las Vegas, operated with a Four Class 747-400 with BA First, Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller (First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy).

This also brings British Airways and Virgin Atlantic into direct competition on the same route.

Let the fireworks commence…

However, both sides are reminded of the following tag line if they’re going to fight in Vegas…

a sign in a building

I remember the old BMI Manchester-Las Vegas/Manchester-Chicago VERY well.

A proper inflight chef in Business class, old business class seats pitched at 50″ for Economy Plus (with LOTS) of bubbles… and being treated like a human being in Economy.

From that, I went to United Airlines and US Airways.

      ’nuff said????? 😉
