Just a heads up that my poll on using your mobile phone in-flight to talk to people on the ground will be closing  on 26th May at 08:00.

So this is your chance to let out what you think about the plans of Virgin Atlantic to introduce full mobile comms in the air (that’s Voice calls, SMS and Data)… or if another carrier tries it on.

Would you talk in the air on your mobile phone?

I’ll be doing analysis afterwards, but there is a clear message  to take away already – I’d better buy some shares in Shurtape Technologies, LLC.

Why? With all the Duck Tape I could sell at an airport if the plane you’re getting onto has full mobile coverage on it…..

    With onboard wifi. It’s very possible to take conference calls in the air (I’ve done this before). Now, I didn’t speak much, but I was in a crunch, flying from ATL to SFO during working hours.

    How related is this scenario? Doesn’t everyone who flies regularly have their own noise cancelling headphones/ear plugs or even regular head phones today?
