Transaero Airlines have confirmed an order today for four Airbus A380 aircraft.
The original memorandum of understanding was signed in October 2011, with the conversion of that memorandum into a firm order, making it the first operator of the WhaleJet in Russia/CIS/Eastern European area.
Transaero is planning to deploy these double-decker planes on high density routes radiating from Moscow – and considering the planned configuration of planes “high density” is the correct term with plans to install over 700 seats per plane (making the Transaero planes the 2nd densest A380 that will be in traffic – the most dense will be Air Austral who plan to go for 800 passengers in a plane)

No date was given for when the first one will enter service, nor what engines the plane will be fitted with.
Transaero operate a fleet of 83 aircraft, ranging from most of the 737 Classic Family (-300, -400, 500), 737NG Family (-700 and -800), 747’s (-300 and -400 series) 767’s (-200ER and -300ER), 777-200ER’s, 777-300’s and a trio of TU-214’s operating over 130 routes.
The airline also has Boeing 747-8i’s, 787’s and Airbus A320Neo’s on order too.
Over 700 seats per plane to fill. That’s still an awful lot of people on a big plane….
