Emirates to operate double daily A380’s on Dubai – New York

28/06/2012 by Kevincm

Emirates have confirmed they will be uprating their A380 operations between Dubai and New York JFK.

The current service currently operated by an A380 and a B777-300ER will switch to a Double A380 service.

There’s a bit of a wait to make this change as it’s one of the first for 2013.

The planned schedule is below:

Dubai to New York – JFK

EK203 DEPART DXB 02:00 ARRIVE JFK 07:20
EK201 DEPART DXB 08:30 ARRIVE JFK 13:50

Operates as A380 service on both flights from 01/01/13
Subject to change.

New York JFK to Dubai

EK204 DEPART JFK 10:40 ARRIVE DXB 0810+1
EK202 DEPART JFK 23:00 ARRIVE DXB 2030+1

Operates as A380 service on both flights from 01/01/13
Subject to change.

The current EK203/204 rotation is operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, and remains as timetabled for now.

Another option for those who like their aircraft big. Very big….

I wonder if they have enough load to justify two big birds?

I do wonder this some days. A mixture of business logic, predicted loads and maybe… some capacity dumping going…

Emirates must be doing something right to operate their massive fleet of A380’s…
