2000 Posts – A restrospective and a note of thanks

10/07/2012 by Kevincm

On the 20th May 2009, I started up a little blog on Blogger called GettoIFE.

Then I realised I spelt it wrong and put the ‘H’ in, to make it GhettoIFE.com.

I thought it’d be useful to put some of my travel thoughts down, give an outlet to those thoughts, mix in my bad sense of humour and sarcasm, whilst covering some points of travel that aren’t covered through the blogging press normally – namely IFE, relevant news headlines and trip reports from the back of the plane.

Near enough the first blog entry. And yes, lot of words are spelt worng. Something things don’t change 😉

Since then, the blog has evolved (like most things), with the addition of Airplane Art, Safety Videos, Points and me even taking on a few campaigns (such as APD, Identity Cards and a few other things). I’ve covered the purchase of BMI by Lufthansa right through to IAG picking it up and I’ve picked on a few airlines more than once (and lets face it, some of them deserve it).

Since then, the blog has been through a few redesigns (although what possessed me to have the blue and mustard design on the second design, I still don’t know to this day),until I found a design I liked…

One of the last posts on Blogger before I moved to Boarding Area.

On October 2011, I was invited by Boarding Area to move home and join their network, and thanks to this, the “GhettoIFE Project” has grown further, allowing me to cover more stories, whilst keeping a tighter focus on the UK and European points and aviation game – and bringing the concept of a phone in a sick bag to watch your entertaiment on to many more people.

Today marks a special point in this blog’s history: My 2000th post since I first pressed “post” (a bit over 3 years ago – I skipped the 3 year blog celebration completely).

Whilst I haven’t got a giveaway today (there’s one in the future, but I need to talk to some people in China and pay money to make the giveaways  first), I’d like to give you all something from me – My thanks.

My thanks for you visiting this blog, commenting, moaning about my grammar and spelling. My thanks to those of you who subscribe via RSS, or drop by via Boarding Area or even those who Google me.

To all my readers – past, present and future – thank you for reading.

Hopefully I’ll be around for another 2000 posts of sarcasm wit and news.

Congrats Kev, it’s been a pleasure.

I’m one of those who winces at the mis-spellings, but never bring any to your attention as I thought it a little rude. Now you’ve thanked those who do I’ll not hold back! (this is probably a joke).
