Post Olympic long-haul sales are starting to hit….

16/08/2012 by Kevincm

Well in a move to get people flying after the 30th Olympiad, it seems that fare sale season has hit, with cheap fares loaded on long haul routes from London to the USA (with me looking at London – Chicago Routes):

Currently those on sale have about £30 – £70 off with the following groupings taking part:

  • AirFrance/Delta/KLM
  • British Airways/American Airlines/Iberia

Oddly, Star Alliance is conspicuous by its absence at the moment, but fares seem to be loading quickly.

Trying to get a list of cheap fares out of BA.com can be a challenge. Thankfully Netflights has a full list of what’s on sale in both World Traveller (Economy) and World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy)

Hope you decide to go to Argentina! For the US it seems like LAX gives you the best bang for the buck!

Sadly, It’ll be Chicago for me as usual. Argentina is on the visit list, but looking at my travels, that’s heading into next year at the absolute earliest…

Fall sales on the North Atlantic route are +/-normal in recent years, but this year seems to be. A bit better. Earlier in the week (late last week?) another blog in these parts mentioned some great savings on Business Class fares, with emphasis on Amsterdam as I recall. I’m just starting to look for good BC fares in late Jan to mid-Feb, 2013. I don’t much care about the European arrival city as once I’m over the pond, I enjoy European trains. Any suggestions about where to start looking. I’m game for almost anything that bypasses the UK and their silly departure taxes. Thanks and standing by…
