Time for some 787 news (as seemingly one of the fun things on this blog at the moment).
First up is ANA who have confirmed start dates for it new range of long haul 787 routes
- Tokyo Narita (NRT) and San Jose (SJC) should commence 11th Jan 2013
- Tokyo Narita (NRT)-Seattle (SEA) route should switch from 777-200 to 787 operated from 1st October 2012
- Tokyo Haneda – Beijing route should switch on the 28th October 2012 , subject to the aircraft being delivered
The schedule for the San Jose route has been posted too:
NH1076 DEPART NRT 17:35 – ARRIVE SJC 1010 NH1075 DEPART SJC 11:45 – ARRIVE NRT 1610+1 Booked Equipment: Boeing 787-8 Operate Monday, Wednesday Friday, Saturday, Sunday Commences 11/01/13
Booking for the San Jose route should open soon. As usual, if you’re booking “just to fly on the 787”, take these dates with a pinch of salt as aircraft sometimes aren’t delivered in time…
ANA’s International 787’s are very lightly configured with 46 Business class seats in a staggered 1-2-1 and 1-1-1 layout, and 112 Economy seats in 2-4-2 configuration.
Meanwhile, United Airlines have completed a pre-delivery flight of their first Boeing 787.

The carrier took its almost new aircraft for a 3 hour test flight from/to Boeing’s facilities at Everett, to check the aircraft systems were in line with expectations and to ensure all safety elements are in place.
United are still expecting to take delivery of their first 787 in late September.
