There’s been talk and discussion of when British Airways will be receiving its new Airbus A380’s and Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
Well it looks like some time-frames have been announced.
For the 787’s, British Airways is expecting their first delivery in May 2013, with a further three aircraft to be delivered in to the end of the year.
Meanwhile for those who love the A380, the first delivery is expected in July 2013, with another two aircraft scheduled to be delivered in September and November
British Airways intendeding to have the aircraft integrated and flying in the fleet by the commencement of the Winter 2013/2014 timetable – so whilst they may be arriving during the summer, you’ll see little sign of them until they’re ready to fly for training flight and operational flights.
British Airways has a fair few frames on order with:
- Twelve Airbus A380’s with options for 7 more
- Eight Boeing 787-8s and 16 Boeing 787-9s.
The plan is to replace for the A380s to replace the older Boeing 747s, and the 787s to replace the 767 fleet.
British Airways has an active fleet of 243 frames, varying from the tiny A318 right up to the 777-300ER.
