Swiss is to relaunch a direct service from Zurich and Singapore from 12th May 2013.
This comes four years after the Zurich to Singapore route via Bangkok was dropped due to various reasons.
Services will run direct on the following timetable:
LX178 DEPART ZRH 22:45 ARRIVE SIN 17:00+1 LX179 DEPART SIN 23:05 ARRIVE ZRH 06:10+1 Commences: 12th May 2013, Booking commences 8th October 2012. Operates Daily Booked Equipment: Airbus A340
The flight will be operated by an A340, configured with 219 seats in
- 8 Seats in First Class
- 47 Seats in Business Class
- 164 in Economy Class
Star Alliance carriers also have the choice of the Singapore Airlines flight which is operated by an A380 (and is also codeshared with Swiss).
Fellow Star Alliance member Singapore Air currently serves the Zurich-Singapore route daily with an A380 aircraft, with Swiss codesharing on the service. This flight is the “daytime” outbound flight from Zurich, with a night flight returning:
SQ345 DEPART ZRH 11:45 ARRIVE SIN 05:55+1 SQ346 DEPART SIN 01:20 ARRIVE ZRH 08:00 Operates Daily Booked Equipment Airbus A380
Again, nothing like choice when flying in the air.
