Thai Airways takes delivery of its first Airbus A380

Thai Airways International has today taken delivery of its first Airbus A380 at Toulouse.  This makes Thai the 9th operator to fly the A380, with their first aircraft called “Si Rattana” – or Majestic Jewel.

Thai has a total of six A380’s on order configured in a 507 seat layout of:

  • 12 in Royal First Class (configured as pitch of 83 inches and a width of 26.5 inches) on the upper deck
  • 60 in Royal Silk Class (business class configured with a pitch of 74 inches and a width of 20 inches) on the upper deck
  • 435 in economy spread across the entire lower deck with some seats on the upper deck

All seats are equipped with in-flight entertainment systems, communication outlets and individual power supply.

Thai will only have a few days to get used to their new aircraft as it meant to be flying from Bangkok to Hong Kong and Singapore from the 6th October.

    Now THAT is how you paint this monster airplane! Unmistakable. Certainly not another bland and boring white elephant in the sky.

    Provided the plane flies on the 6th I should be on it… in first…Lucky booking it looks like 🙂
