Collect BAA Worldpoints? Only at Heathrow from 1st January 2013…

01/10/2012 by Kevincm

BAA has decided to re-focus its WorldPoints loyalty programme, by focusing on  Heathrow only.

This means after 31st December 2012, you will not be able to pick up WorldPoints at the following airports:

  • Aberdeen
  • Glasgow
  • Stansted
  • Southampton

You will still be able to collect and use Worldpoints and Worldpoint vouchers up until 31st December 2012 at all BAA Airports until then.

  • WorldPoint Vouchers will continue to be valid at Heathrow after 31st December 2012. For those of you who have converted points into vouchers, you can convert them back and send them to WorldPoints for re-crediting.
  • For those who use WorldPoints and Pre-booked parking, uou can collect or redeem points on pre-booked parking at Stansted, Glasgow, Aberdeen or Southampton Airports up to and including 31 December 2012 for parking up to a year from the date of booking.

WorldPoints are not the most exciting of currency if you don’t spend at Heathrow, but it does have useful mileage opportunities for Avios, British Airways, Miles and More and Virgin Atlantic – as well as vouchers for Heathrow Express, Parking and Shopping.

You earn one point per £1 spent, and one point per £10 spent at bureaux de change (so you need to spend £500 or so at a BAA airport to get a reward). Although if you hit the signup link at http://promotions.baaworldpoints.com/wptwitter/, you can get a starter for 300 points…
