Meanwhile, Gaurda will reroute their flight to Amsterdam via Abi Dhabi, and apply Etihads code on its flight:

In addition further routes operated by Garuda Indonesia for Etihad had been confirmed with the following flights from Jakarta

  • Jakarta – Denpasar

What was I saying about an Etihad alliance? Here’s another example…

Garuda Indonesia is also a member elect of SkyTeam (due to join in 2014), operating a fleet of A330’s, 737’s, 747, with orders for 777-300ER’s

I am surprised Etihad made this move. I wouldn’t fly Garuda even if they offer me free flights. To be honest, none of the Indonesian airlines. They have a terrible reputation regarding safety. No tks!!!!!

Well they’re making SkyTeam live up to their name of ScareyTeam…

Take a look at this article. It is not Garuda but it says all about flight safety in Indonesia.

Skyteam has been lacking a crown jewel, and Etihad would definitely deliver that to them

Santastico, certainly you havent read much about the current update. Garuda Indonesia is currently 4-star airline (same peer with Etihad, Asia’s best regional airline 2012, World’s best regional airline 2012, best airline by CAPA 2012, Best Airline by Roy Morgan Institute.
Prejudice is the easiest way to do, and the easiest always means the least beneficial.

Everybody is entitled to their opinions and IMO prejudice is not the right word.

As far as I know Garuda is still banned from entering US airspace.

To Redhat, i think it is widely agreed that before you give opinion on one particular thing, you should have adequate knowledge on that. Otherwise, it’ll be merely a wrong statement.
And your comment is so different from Santastico’s, everyone would easily spot that your comment is an opinion, not prejudice.
Garuda ended US route in 1998 following low occupancy, and will re-enter the US in 2013 using B777. Even the US ambassador officially invited Garuda to enter US asap. Garuda had earlier said that they’ll fly to US in 2014 at latest. So, there’s no ban whatsoever. You easily check in FAA website, or Garuda website.

Garuda, 4-star airline?? Are you kidding me? I rather fly Malaysian or Air Asia before choosing Garuda.

DowningStr, 2 word for you..”browse and read”
Heryanto, go to CAPA, Roy Morgan, and SkyTrax websites. You’ll find about Garuda and its service. All you need to do is browse and read.
As easy as that. Talking is easy, being responsible of everything u say is a priviliege.

Avoid flying Garuda and its subs guys!! Horrible safety records and service is so so. Corrupted custom officers in CGK and DPS airports.

@AH: Sounds like you are Garuda spoke person or someone from the department of transportation. If you are, I dont blame you 🙂 As RedHat said “everybody is entitled to their opinion”
It’s a forum for people to express what they think. It’s freedom of speech and expression. Why are you so mad about it. Live is too short, enjoy it Ha..ha..ha..

Heryanto, i am none of positions you mentioned. It is my responsibility, as an Indonesian to counter misleading opinion. I agree, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I disagree, those who purposely mislead information will go around giving misleading information. Your life might be short, i am sure mine is long and enjoyable haha.

Etihad wouldn’t risk their reputation if they knew that Garuda hasn’t improved…
I completely agree with you Akhyari, they need to browse and read…….
