In what should be no surprise to… well… anyone, Kingfisher Airlines has had its licence to operate suspended by the Indian Regulator – The Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
DGCA has suspended the licence due to Kingfisher not producing a viable plan for its financial and operational revival- and to resolve the issues with over payment of employees.
All bookings for Kingfisher are suspended until further notice.
The DCGA suspended the licence as the Indian Government does not want a situation where the airline stops and re-starts operations and then keeps flying in fits and start… which is what Kingfisher has been doing for the past few months. Currently the airline has been “locked out” since 1st October.
Kingfishers fleet has been decimated with only 10 planes remaining out of 66 that the airline had at the beginning of the year.
Can someone 1) Pay off the staff who haven’t been paid and 2) Put this airline out of its misery.
