Airplane Art Extra – Airbus A350 Tailfin

23/10/2012 by Kevincm

It’s Wednesday, so it must be time for some Airplane Art Extra! This special comes from Airbus S.A.S. who have unveiled the fully painted horizontal stabiliser of their new Airbus A350 aircraft

This vertical stabiliser will be integrated into the first Airbus A350 (MSN1), standing at a proud 10 meters high.

For the vertical stabiliser arriving, Airbus has formally now opened its A350 assembly line in Toulouse, France, with the first flight of the A350 due for Mid-2013 … subject to problems cropping up.

The A350XWB to give its full title will be split into 4 models:

  • A350-800 – Seating 270 (3-class), 276–312 (2-class)
  • A350-900 – Seating 314 (3-class), 315–366 (2-class)
  • A350-900F – Air Freighter
  • A350-1000 – Seating 350 (3-class), 369–412 (2-class)

Bear in mind, this is totally new plane. And we all know that new planes end up being delayed….
