Now that Qatar airways are getting their 787 aircraft, they now are setting up routes for them.
We all know they’ve been doing shuttle runs from Doha to Dubai, and have today launched Doha to London Heathrow today with one rotation due to operate as a Boeing 787.
The next rotation has been announced, which will stretch the legs of the 787 from Doha to Perth – and help it live up to its “Thin and Long” idea.
Timetable below:

This will make Qatar Airways the first operator to bring the 787 to Australia, and will be airline’s second intercontinental 787 route.
Qatar Airways have three Boeing 787-8 aircraft in their fleet, with more to come as 2013 progresses.

Are they cramming in 9 across in economy like United?
Kevincm says
The answer shouldn’t surprise you: Yes – 9 across
Only JAL and ANA have 2-4-2 down the back. Everyone else has gone 3-3-3

Thanks Kevencm. Good to know. I might look into the ANA routes.

I’ve flown ANA’s 787 up the front – an amazing trip.
The back of ANA 787’s least 1) looks reasonable and 2) looks comfortable. Seat pitch is standard in the back, but width helps I find.
Hope that helps Levy Flight.
