London City Airport has a habit of being fast over anything – be it turning around a plane, quick immigration or luggage claim.
Well according to their web site, they’re managed to get self bagging down to a lightning 24 seconds.
The service offered by London City Airport and British Airways allows passengers to print their own luggage tags at the airport.
Simply visit one of the blue self check-in desks at the airport, follow the usual check-in procedure. If your flight qualifies for self-tagging, the check in machine will spit out a boarding pass and your luggage tag. It’s then a matter of tagging the bag like you’ve seen many times before, then dropping it to Check In Desk 7 (British Airway’s desk).
You luggage will then be whisked away in the luggage handling area at LCY, and filtered onto your plane.
And that’s all there is to it.
For those who do have luggage when going through this small – and busy little airport, it’ll be one heck of a timesaver (rather than queuing up to check in and drop off).
