Etihad is to launch a service to Amsterdam in May, with KLM codesharing on day one on the route.

The route will be operated as such:

Etihad’s code already exists on the current KLM service to Abu Dhabi as well. The KLM Amsterdam to Abu Dhabi route currently operates 5 times a week, with an increase to daily operation in the summer timetable.

The A330-200 is configured in with 22 Business Class (Pearl Class) seats, and 240 Economy (Coral Class) seats.

Meanwhile, to boost sharing KLM will apply its code onto the following services Etihad services from Abu Dhabi according to the release at Etihad.com:

  • Baghdad
  • Basra
  • Calicut
  • Cochin
  • Dhaka
  • Erbil
  • Hyderabad
  • Kathmandu
  • Chennai
  • Male
  • Peshawar
  • Seychelles
  • Trivandrum

This is in addition to the codes placed on other flights already.

Eithads codes on the following KLM flights from Amsterdam:

This appears to be part of the great tie-up that Air France-KLM and Eithad group announced in October, with both airline groups tightening relations.

Let the fun continue….

i’d love to try out EY F/J sometime, but if they move into SkyTeam I could practically say goodbye to that (current plan is AA miles)
