All Nippon Airlines have confirmed that they will be keeping their 787 grounded till at least May, with routes inculding
- Tokyo Narita-Seattle
- Toyko Narita-San Jose
- Kansai-Seoul
- Nagoya-Seoul
remaining as cancelled for now due to lack of aircraft availability.
Whilst ANA is still waiting clearance from aviation authorities, the airline hasn’t decided how it is handling operations from June onwards.
Boeing has stated it has a high degree of confidence that the fix that the airframer has come up will allow for the 787 to take to the skies again.
ANA has reason to hope that the suspensions are lifted sooner rather than later – ANA would like to launch a 2nd daily run from Toyko Narita to Chicago O’Hare International from the 29th June. However to do this, the airline will require its 787 fleet active and flying to release other equipment to allow it to operate the 2nd service.
ANA has the bulk of grounded 787 fleet with 17 aircraft on the ground out of 50 planes.
