American Airlines to commence ERJ-175 service in August

15/04/2013 by Kevincm

American is commence with Embarer ERJ-175’s from 1st August 2013.

The route list is far and wide, operating from American’s Chicago Hub.

The following services will switch – note that not all rotations will be operated with ERJ-175’s and maybe operated with other equipment.

As usual, check when you book, and don’t make the mistake of booking a flight just for a specific plane…

Airlineroutes.net has the full skinny on rotations, but here are the cities that will get ERJ-175’s

Albuquerque
New Orleans
Pittsburgh
Kansas City
Minneapolis
Toronto
Washington Reagan
Houston
Newark
Philadelphia
Salt Lake City
San Antonio

The ERJ-175 fleet will be operated by Republic Airlines for American Airlines.

For some routes, it’ll be a big improvement as these may be operated by ERJ-145 aircraft. Now whilst an ERJ-145 is a great aircraft, it is a tad small and can be crammed. ERJ-175’s are normally configured in 2-2 searing, and have a lot of space in the cabin, as well as overhead lockers.

Something to look forward to there…
