Swiss Business Class sale fares from the UK

25/04/2013 by Kevincm

Swiss has launched a bunch of sale fares from its 4 UK destinations to Bangkok, Beijing, Cairo, Dar es Salaam, Dehil, Mubai, Muscat, Nairobi and Singapore.

Depending which airport you go from will indicate the starting price:

               LHR      LCY     BHX     MAN
Bangkok        1790    1811    1788    1790
Beijing        1590    1610    1587    1590
Cairo           988    1008     985     988
Dar es Salaam  1720     -      1719    1722
Delhi          1290    1310    1287    1290
Mumbai         1407    1428    1405    1407
Muscat         1480    1500    1477    1480
Nairobi        1710    1730    1707    1710
Singapore      1970    1991    1968    1970

Notes:
LHR = London Heathrow
LCY = London City
BHX = Birmingham
MAN = Manchester

You can to purchase this fare by 10 May and travel between 1 June and 30 September 2013, and is subject to availability.

A quick peek indicates this is a P Fare, so if you are thinking about this in mileage run terms, this may not be the best fare to go with as it can earn nothing to 100% depending on the frequent flyer programme. It also requires a Saturday night stay.

Not bad value (and I do rate Swiss as a great airline inside Europe), and if your plans take you to these destinations, these can represent good value.

    In respect of your assertion “P class … can earn nothing to 100% depending on the frequent flyer programme”.

    Which specific programmes are you referring to which does not earn any miles? Did you actually look up any *A programmes?

    I have had a look at all the *A programmes (with the exceptions of TAM and TAP) and their earning rates for P are detailed below.

    United, Copa – 150%
    Aegean – 200%
    Turkish – 150%
    US Airways – 150%
    Miles & More (Lufthansa, Swiss, Austria, LOT, Adria, Croatia, Luxair, Brussels etc) – 100%
    Singapore – 125%
    Avianca, TACA – 125%
    Air Canada – 125%
    Thai – 125%
    TAP Portugal – Unable to ascertain
    Air China, Shenzhen – 150%
    Air New Zealand – Accrues Airpoints Dollars at the same rate as other business class fares
    ANA – 70%
    Asiana – 125%
    Egyptair – 150%
    Ethipian – 200%
    SAS – Accrues points at the same rate as other business class fares

    In respect of your assertion that the P class booking earns nothing to 100% depending on the frequent flyer programme, which *A programme are you referring to?

    I have checked all the *A programmes apart form TAM and TAP and, all of them earn a good mileage apart from ANA (70%). None of them earns nil miles.
