For those who love the A380, and also love Switzerland, good news! Emirates will be operating an A380 service between Dubai and Zürich.
Emirates operate two services a day, with one rotation being upgraded. The A380 schedule looks something like this:
EK087 DEPART DXB 08:25 ARRIVE ZRH 12:00 EK088 DEPART ZRH 14:35 ARRIVE DXB 23:40 Operates to 31 December 2013 as Boeing 777-300ER Operates from 1st January 2014 as Airbus A380 - 507 Seat
The other flight will remain being operated by a Boeing 777-300ER.
A 507 seater A380 is configured as:
– 14 Suites
– 76 Business Class Seats
– 427 Economy Class Seats
Emriates say this will add 1100 extra seats between the two points, and provide more connectivity to Asian hubs.
There is competition on the route, with the home carrier Swiss operating a A330-300 to Zürich in a three class service.
The other operator of A380’s into Zürich is Singapore Airlines who offer a direct service between Zürich and Singapore.

I guess the Emir of Dubai needs to find a place to hide his wealth before Abu Dhabi takes it away during the next round of bailouts
