British Airways has taken delivery – and have flown their first Boeing 787 to London today. Flight BA787 – http://www.flightradar24.com/BAW787 – touched down at Heathrow at 12:07 Local time (after a few loops around the Bovington Stack.. a rather appropriate welcome to its new home)
This is the first of 24 aircraft, with BA holding options and orders for all three subtypes of the 787.
In terms of passenger seating, the British Airways 787’s will have the following installed aboard in a three class layout:
– 35 Club World (Business Class) seats in a new layout of 2-3-2
– 25 World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) seats in 2-3-2
– 154 World Traveller (Economy) seats in the squeezeliner 3-3-3
Meanwhile, back to today, BA have confirmed the first routes of their 787 fleet Toronto and Newark NJ, with discounted fares loaded too.
