The Miles and More Credit card by MBNA has an interesting offer, with new bonuses for UK customers.
- Sign-on Bonus – 1,500 Miles
- Spend bonus – 5,000 Miles providing a spend of £500 is make within 3 months.
The cards themselves are the usual two-cards – one bill offering that MBNA offer with:
- An American Express branded card offering 2 Miles and More Miles per £ for the first 6 months, then 1.5 mile per £ thereafter
- A Visa branded card offering 1.5 Miles and More Miles per £ for the first 6 months, then 1 mile per £2 thereafter
The APR on this product is 16.9% for those who carry balances forward
Like most airline credit cards in the United Kingdom, these are offered via MBNA – so bear that in mind if you are considering applying for this card, especially if you hold an MBNA Card (such as the Diamond Club Card, The Emirates Credit Card, Etihad Credit Card, American Airlines Credit Card, Virgin Atlantic… etc etc etc…)
Applications need to be in by 30th August if you want to take advantage of this offer at https://apply.mbna.co.uk/UKNeoCCapp/entry?sc=1UALMAMIGS00142&mc=UAGMAM001CS (It’s only showing 1,500 on the site.. but the offer I have is for 6,500. Work that out…
And whilst there are welcome boosts – especially for those of you who collect Miles and More miles in the UK- I’m struggling to get excited about this. Maybe the generous 35K bonus offer from American Airlines/MBNA spoiled my opinions of what good offers we might get for the rest of the year.
Still – if you’re intent on improving your pile of Miles and More Miles, this could be useful indeed. It’s especially useful for those who wish to prevent their miles expiring.

Please note, the information above does not constitute financial advice and you should always do your own research on top to ensure it’s right for your specific circumstances, and may impact on your credit score. So don’t blame me if you overspend on a card and they come hounding after you. If in doubt – seek appropriate financial advice.
Those who are considering applying should bear in mind you’ll need to be resident in the UK to get one, and probably have reasonable banking references/credit ratings to obtain the card.
