Time to turn our attention back to the “other” new plane of the year – the Bombardier CSeries.
Thins haven’t been going to plan, with first flight delayed for a while now, but there appears to be progress, as the prototype aircraft – FTV1 (A CS100 aircraft) has begun low-speed taxing tests according to a video released by Bombardier:
Low Speed Taxi tests are a reasonably good sign that the systems are slowly maturing on this aircraft, edging it closer to that first flight Bombardier needs.
The CSeries is targeting the 110-150 seater market, with 66 orders for the CS100 and 114 for the CS300 (the first stretch of the plane.
Hopefully for Bombardier, airlines will see what it thinks are the benefits of the CSeries and start ordering them – and a first flight would be a wonderful way of giving the project a shot in the arm.
