United will be flying some more friendly skies in next year’s summer season, with a direct flight between Chicago O’Hare and Edinburgh.
The timetable looks like this:
UA118 DEPART ORD 18:00 ARRIVE EDI 07:45+1 UA119 DEPART EDI 10:45 ARRIVE ORD 13:00 Booked equipment: Boeing 757-200 Frequencies: - 5 weekly from 22nd May 2014 - 11 June 2014 - Daily from 12th June 2014 to 1st September 2014 - 4 weekly from 2nd September 2014 to 5th October 2014 - Service suspended from 6th October 2014
United Airlines 757-200’s are configured in:
– 16 BusinessFirst Seats
– 45 Economy Plus Seats
– 108 Economy Seats
In addition to the new service, the current United service between Newark International NJ to Edinburgh service will continue (itself served by a 757-200).
For those who want more connections than they have at Newark, a flight to Chicago is always welcome, allowing further connection through United Airlines network. For those visiting the Scottish capital, it’s perfectly timed for the Edinburgh festival, along with the summer season.
This route is subject to approval, but ticketing is open (if a mite expensive at the moment with a return pricing at £934 in S fare class… for an economy seat.)

Does UA’s 757 stop off for fuel in just Iceland or New Foundland too?
