Well, this has been bubbling along, and the French are going to have a strike tomorrow, with the strike expected to 0430-1800 UTC (06:30CET to 20:00CET) according to EuroControl.
The strike is being called over the European Single Sky plans.
The strike will impact most on the South of France/Spain/Portugal border, but will hit most of France with some action expected from control centres in the morning.
Most of the major airlines have announced their plans for tomorrow:
- EasyJet http://support.easyjet.com/faq/en/request.do?view%28%29=c[case-3970] have announced 30% cuts with 50 flights cut from their timetable
- Ryanair http://www.ryanair.com/en/notices/gops/131004-10_OCT_ATC_STRIKE_EN-GB have confirmed a full list of cancellations http://www.ryanair.com/en/notices/gops/131009-10OCT_cancelled_list-GB
- British Airways http://www.britishairways.com/travel/flightops/public/en_gb?p_faqid=4801 and are advising passengers to check before they fly
- KLM http://www.klm.com/travel/gb_en/prepare_for_travel/up_to_date/flight_update/index.htm was confirmed there may be delays and cancellations, without exact
- Air France http://www.airfrance.co.uk/GB/en/local/information/news/news-air-traffic-air-france.htm also state there may be some delays and last-minute cancellations may occur.
- A full list of expected delays and strike impact points is listed at http://dsnado.canalblog.com/archives/2013/10/09/28181095.html
As usual, the message is simple when it comes to these situations: CHECK BEFORE YOU FLY AS THERE WILL BE CANCELLATIONS AND DELAYS.
