Finnair strike action off with the two main unions

15/11/2013 by Kevincm

In what could be described as good news, Finnair, along with the the Finnish Flight Attendants Association and the Finnish Aviation Union have cancelled their planned industrial action which was scheduled to begin today according to http://www.finnair.com/INT/GB/flight-information

All sides have have agreed a new collective labor agreement, which involves cost savings. Should the savings be met, cabin staff will protected from layoffs for two years.

Negotiations continue between Finnair and the Finnish Aviation Union on labor agreements for ground handling personnel.

Services will return to normal on Saturday as there has been some disruption today as Finnair pre-cancelled flights.

However, there may be sympathy strikes for LSG Sky Chefs Finland who are due to walk on the 18th November.

Expect more trouble along the line…
