After a storm drowned out the final day of the Dubai Air Show, there is not a lot to report on new orders, other than the final numbers:
- Boeing stole the show with commitments and orders for 342 aircraft
- Airbus comes in second with 160 aircraft
- Bombardier gets 38 aircraft
- ATR comes in at the back with 10 aircraft.
In terms of show-stealers – all eyes were with Boeing as they launched the Boeing 777X Series aircraft with orders and commitments for 259 of the new class.

For Airbus, it was more sales of the Airbus A380 and A350XWB. Even Bombardier got a small vote of confidence in the CSeries Platform, with an order from Iraqi Airways.
The majority of the orders could be tracked to two airlines – Eithad and Emirates who are preparing for the future with aircraft optimised to their needs.
How other airlines react will be interesting as we move into 2014…
