It seems that EasyJet is making on heck of a concerted effort to move into Tel Aviv, with the announcement that they will be launching a service from London Gatwick.
This will be the third route from the UK (with service currently offered from Manchester Airport and London Luton).
The service will offer departures three times a week, operating Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
The exact timetable has yet to be released, with a commencement date of 1st April.
Lead in pricing will be £90.49, and heading upwards from there.
EasyJet have high hopes for this service, with the ability to carry 50,000 passengers to Israel a year, as it continues broadening its services to the area.
The airline operates to Tel Aviv from Basel, Geneva, London Luton, Manchester and Rome, with Berlin-SXF due to start next year.
Notably, these destinations aren’t covered yet by the El-Al Low Cost Carrier UP… yet.
For those who prefer full service airlines, El Al and British Airways offer service from Heathrow.
However, as the low cost carriers move in, the picture changes a lot – how those legacy carriers react will be one to watch…
