Etihad continues to expand its routes – this time with its own aircraft, adding Abu Dhabi to Perth as a new option for those who wish to connect from Australia
The timetable looks like below:
EY486 DEPART AUH 22:10 ARRIVE PER 13:10+1 EY487 DEPART PER 15:55 ARRIVE AUH 23:25 Commences: 15th July 2014 Operates Daily Booked Equipment: Airbus A330-200
Etihad will be using Airbus A330-200s on this route, configured with
– 22 Seats in Business
– 240 Seats in Economy
Perth offers good connections with Etihad’s partner in Australia – Virgin Australia, so an addition there makes sense for both airlines as they can funnel more traffic to each other.
Meanwhile, for those in the USA, Dallas Fort Worth will also be joining the Etihad network map from December 2014 too:
EY161 DEPART AUH 09:45 ARRIVE DFW 16:30 EY160 DEPART DFW 18:45 ARRIVE AUH 19:50+1 Commences: 3rd December 2014 Flights operate Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Booked Equipment: Boeing 777-200LR
Etihad will be using Boeing 777-200LR (the long range variant of the Boeing 777) on this route, configured with:
– 8 First Class seats
– 40 Seats in Business
– 189 Seats in Economy
It doesn’t take too much of a guess why Etihad are flying to Dallas, as it is a codeshare partner with American Airlines – who have a bit of a hub at DFW. This has traffic for both parties.
And its nice to see Etihad expanding its route network, rather than buy a bit of an airline and getting it to do the work for them…
