Etihad adds more seats from Abu Dhabi to Manchester

27/12/2013 by Kevincm

Etihad is slowly modifying its network so it shifts the right aircraft to meet the capacity requirements. As such it is boosting its services from Abu Dhabi to Manchester, with a switch out of an Airbus A330-200 to a Boeing 777-300ER.

The timetable remains the same, with a double daily service, one operating with an Airbus A330 still:

EY015 DEPART AUH 02:30 ARRIVE MAN 07:25 Airbus A330-200
EY021 DEPART AUH 10:10 ARRIVE MAN 15:05 Boeing 777-300ER

EY016 DEPART MAN 09:25 ARRIVE AUH 19:40 Airbus A330-200
EY022 DEPART MAN 21:05 ARRIVE AUH 07:20+1 Boeing 777-300ER

Operates Daily
Operates as dual A330-200 service until 31st May 2014
Operates as A330-200/777-300ER from 1st June 2014
Operates as two-class service (Business and Economy)

There is a substantial capacity increase, as an Etihad A330-200 has 262 seats, whilst their 777-300ER holds 380 seats – the equivalent of half an extra A330 in the sky.

Economy passengers might want to take note however, as the seating formation is the bone-crushing 3-4-3 seating, compared with Airbus A330-200 in a slightly more comfortable 2-4-2 seating formation.

As usual, it’ll be down to timings, but sometimes, bigger isn’t better…
