It seems that London Southend to Edinburgh route will be no longer with us as we roll forward to Summer 2014, with EasyJet pulling the route from the 15th June.
EasyJet operate an A320 currently on this route, operating 4-5 services a week.
For Southend Airport, it is a bit of a blow as this is very much “an alternative” to the other London Airports, with Edinburgh served as a destination by most of the London-Area airports.
Whilst the loss of this route is important, Southend Airport offers a lot of EasyJet access, with regular connections to Alicante, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin-Schonefeld, Faro, Geneva, Jersey, Krakow, Málaga, Palma de Mallorca and Venice-Marco Polo.

Whilst it is “just one destination” – it is the sole UK domestic destination that is leaving Southend’s, and another sign that the market is cut-throat in the UK Domestic Market…
