United is planning to boost its operations to Dublin over the summer season, with a doubling of frequency between Newark and Dublin.
The revised timetable looks like this:
UA023 DEPART EWR 19:00 ARRIVE DUB 06:55+1 UA130 DEPART EWR 22:25 ARRIVE DUB 10:20+1 UA022 DEPART DUB 09:00 ARRIVE EWR 11:30 UA131 DEPART DUB 12:30 ARRIVE EWR 15:00 Operates daily between 5th June 2014 to 18th August 2014 inclusive UA023/UA022 operates outside these times as booked Booked Equipment: Boeing 757-200
As usual for the thinner routes, United is operating its two (and a half) class Boeing 757-200s. These are “internationally” configured as:
– 16 BusinessFirst Seats with a 76″ seat/bed pitch in a 2-2 formation
– 45 Economy Plus with 37″ seat pitch in a 3-3 formation
– 108 Economy Seats with 31″ seat pitch in a 3-3 formation
They’re not that bad in the back of the plane, as the IFE system is a subset of the Panasonic ex2 system – providing the content is reasonable, it makes a pleasant way of crossing the pond (even if it’s in a narro-wjet). See my views in Narrow Minds and Narrow Bodies, where I flew more 757s in a weekend than is healthy (including three flights on the “international” 757s…)…
Also, (and maybe most importantly) Dublin is a great port of entry into the USA, as you can clear immigration in Dublin before departure…
Removes the sometimes hellish immigration queue in a swipe…

Minor point of fact, the system installed on the sCO 752s is the Panasonic eFX system. Good to see the 2nd daily EWR-DUB return after it was transferred to IAD two years ago (and will still operate).
