Good afternoon from the JFK Flagship lounge where my next flight is marked as “Delayed”, with a boarding time long enough in the future to write a few thoughts down… and then run off for a pane again.
- The Ibis Paris CDG is almost a capsule hotel – with how crammed it was, I could swing one cat in the main room… and no cats in the shower/bathroom
- I hate Paris Charles De Gualle. What a mess. When there is no separation of premium and non premium passengers before we get to the initial check in, and agents pulling out people for flights, something isn’t right. Maybe there’s not enough space in the American Airlines section s everyone is squeezed.
- In terms of walking distances, it is very Heathrow T1-esque – in other words prepare to hike to satellites in the middle of nowhere
- I wish AA installed a flat seat product on those International 767s. It’s not bad per-say, but I’d be disappointed if that was for a night flight (as I really struggled to find a decent sleeping position.
- And AA know how I like my glasses of Champagne. Firstly I had this:
Pre flight beverage (Plastic fantastic)
But later… this
(What I call a glass)
- The AA Samsung Galaxy Tabs aren’t THAT bad in terms of a IFE Experience – whilst they have no moving map, they provide decent enough content. Which is fine if you’re in Business. If you’re in economy, it’s time to boot up your own tablet (or for those with phones, please consider using a GhettoIFE system. available in all sick bags in flight)
- Oh, and a final thought – Iberia’s ticketing is awful… I swear I have PNR’s all over the shop:
- The Amadeus PNR
- An AA PNR just for CDG-JKF
- An AA PNR for the entire trip
- A BA PNR
- Four PNR’s…. the poor agent struggled to check me in earlier…
More a bit later on…. who knows – I might try out this fancy GoGo thing (the flight is long enough…)
