If you collect Virgin Flying Club miles, you shop at Tesco in the UK… and you have a stack of Clubcard vouchers available – there’s a tasty bonus, in the form of a 30% uplift on vouchers converted.
Normally £2.50 of Tesco vouchers gives you 625 Virgin Flying Club Miles. During the uplift period, this will be 813 miles.
Also, if you set up the auto-transfer too, you get a sweetener of 2,500 Flying Club Miles.
The full details are at http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/product.aspx?R=2179
Is this a good deal? Depends how you look at it. In the past, there have been 50% uplift offers which have got pretty rare, so a bonus is a bonus if you have excess Clubcard vouchers around.
In addition, Head for Points has a full breakdown of other reasons to consider Virgin Flying Club to collect miles as a vechile for your your mileage habit.
One important thing to remember is that the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club network is slightly more limited than a traditional alliance. The Spend page is here (and a lovely PDF table here, whilst the Partner Page is here.
Whilst Virgin Atlantic Flying Club has little appeal to me personally, you might find reasonable value in it if you look in the right places – that and gives options.
Also, it’s a reasonable place to transfer Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Miles to Hilton HHonours points … Well – until the 6th Feb
Options are always a good thing in the redeeming game.
