Finnair seems to on a roll, with news that they are to add a fifth daily service between Helsink and London Heathrow Airport.
The new timings work out nicely for those who want to spend a day in London, and then arrive back in the dead of night in Finland, whilst the inbound timing allows for a reasonable workday before heading to the airport.
The new timetable looks like this:
Helsinki to London Heathrow AY831 DEPART HEL 08:00 ARRIVE LHR 09:10 AY839 DEPART HEL 14:05 ARRIVE LHR 15:10 AY833 DEPART HEL 16:00 ARRIVE LHR 17:10 AY995 DEPART HEL 16:25 ARRIVE LHR 17:30 AY3125 DEPART HEL 19:30 ARRIVE LHR 20:40 London Heathrow to Helsinki AY3126 DEPART LHR 07:30 ARRIVE HEL 12:20 AY832 DEPART LHR 10:20 ARRIVE HEL 15:15 AY840 DEPART LHR 16:10 ARRIVE HEL 21:00 AY834 DEPART LHR 18:05 ARRIVE HEL 23:00 AY996 DEPART LHR 19:35 ARRIVE HEL 00:30+1 Effective: 30th March 2014
Finnair aircraft tend to be flexible on this route, but the use of Airbus A321s is more common than not. The new flight (AY995/AY996) will be operated by an Airbus A321.. with Sharklets installed.
The new timings are useful for those who wish to connect heading east on British Airways flights too, or for those connecting from the USA at Helsinki.
Options are always useful when flying.
