The Indian Ocean continues to be a focus of the investigation for where MH370 – the missing Boeing 777-200 is.
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) is to deploy six aircraft in the search today
- The first Royal Australian Air Force P3 Orion departed around 09:00 AEDT
- Two ultralong range commercial jets departed for the search area around 09:15
- A second RAAF P3 Orion is due to depart at 11:00
- A New Zeland Air Force P3 is due to depart at 13:00
- A third RAAF P3 Orion is due to depart at 15:00

Two ships are in the area assisting the air search, whilst dropped datum buoys are providing data over tidal flow in the area.
Meanwhile, The Telegraph has released the final 54 minutes transcript of the flight, with seemingly routine communications between the plane and ground controls. This transcript has not been verified by Malaysian authorities with them not wanting to release the data. A similar release has been made at the Beijing Youth Daily
As the search continues, ultimately there are two objectives – to help bring closure to the families and to learn what happened.
Solid facts are still are in short supply in this hunt
