Qatar Airways to deploy its first A380 to London Heathrow

29/04/2014 by Kevincm

Qatar Airway have been making lots of noises about its upcoming Airbus A380, and have finally confirmed which route will get the aircraft.

Unsurprisingly, it is to the slot constrained airport of London Heathrow. The plane will operate on the QR003/QR004 rotation from 17th June on the following times:

QR003 DEPART DOH 07:55 ARRIVE LHR 1315
QR004 DEPART LHR 15:05 ARRIVE DOH 2350

Commences: 17th June 2014

Configuration of the plan will be reasonable with:

  • 8 First Class Seats
  • 48 Business Class Seats
  • 461 Economy Class Seats

Qatsr Airways will have a fleet of 13 A380s, with the first aircraft due for delivery soon.

Seats are already showing in the Qatar Airways booking engine:

Availability in redemption space isn’t appearing as yet, but should open up over time (although there is plenty of redemption space on the QR16 shuttle)

Qatar Airways operates a variety of equipment on the Doha to London Heathrow route, varying from:

  • Airbus A330-3300
  • Airbus A340-600
  • Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner
  • Airbus A319LR (Business Class Service Only)
  • Airbus A380

So, its vitally important to check your equipment you’ll be flying on to ensure you get the experience you want.

As usual, if you’re planning to fly an airline just for a plane type, alterations do occur and the date of the A380 will fly for Qatar Airways may change.
