As we’re back up and running, let’s get back to the news that you can use.
Virgin Atlantic have celebrated 30 years in the air this weekend – when they first took on British Airways and other airline with their launch service between London Gatwick and Newark International Airport

Times do change – as does Virgin Atlantic’s fleet which will be welcoming a new plane to the family – the Boeing 787-9.

The first destination of these new airplanes will be to the city of Boston, MA (as opposed to Boston, United Kingdom) six times a week.
Additional destinations will take the 787-9 to further destinations in the USA including New York-JFK, Newark and Washington DC-IAD
Virgin Atlantic will configure their Boeing 787-9s in a three class cabin – made up of:
- 31 Upper Class
- 35 Premium Economy
- 198 Economy seats.
Whilst London to Boston isn’t that ground breaking in terms of routes – it being one of the shortest USA to Europe routes – it does give a chance for the airline to get used to the class of aircraft as it ponders long haul uses of these new birds.

Do you know if they are replacing the current aircraft out of BOS or adding it to the schedule. Now there is one flight out. Will there be two now?

I’m waiting on the schedule. It looks like VS11/12 still when I looked earlier with A330s…
When I get more news and timings, I’ll share them.
