Good evening from Chez GhettoIFE where I’m slowly getting used to life back in the UK – or in perma-airconditioned environments.
But before I crash out on the sofa, lets look at where the home of BAcon was this year in a quick taster review – The Mandalay Bay
Full Disclosure. The room at the Mandalay Bay was paid for by Frequent Flyer Network. Its services will be reviewed without prejudice, and the views represented are by the authors.
After switching over from the MGM Grand, it was a case of queuing up again to check-in to the hotel. Thankfully, I was directed to the Mlife Check-in – which saved a fair bit of time.
Down towards the beach – not that I ever made it this trip…
The room itself again was pretty large. No let me rephrase that – it was massive for a hotel room full stop.
The view from the room
There was only one fly in the ointment: the hike from the room to the South Convention Centre was a bit of bore. One has to cross the casino floor (pretty much a given), pass the North Convention Centre, pass the wedding chapel and finally arrive at the South Convention Centre.
I was thinking travellators could be a fine idea here. On the plus side, it helped burn off any calories I’ve been piling on doing that a few times whilst I was there.
However, it made for a nice base for three days of work, discussion, idea gathering, networking and catching up with friends – the whole point of this event.
The full review is much later, with an insight into BAcon, but for now I’m writing up the Luxor review.
Here’s a hint: It’s going to make grim reading…..

I saw the check-in line for Luxor on Sunday afternoon when I popped across for a look and I thought ‘oh, oh Kevin’!
That said, it was on hotels.com for £30 for Sunday night ….

I’ve got it written. The Luxor doesn’t come out well.
At all.
