Whilst Virgin Atlantic is in the process of retrenching its network, the airline is still working to introduce its newer aircraft into the fleet.
Currently, plans for the Virgin Boeing 787-9s call for the aircraft to be used from London to Boston, Washington DC and New York JFK.
Virgin Atlantic Boeing 787-9, Rendering Virgin Atlantic
Well, the fun doesn’t stop as another route will be switched over from an Airbus A330 to Boeing 787-9, with the destination being New Delhi.
The indicated timetable is similar to the currently operated timetable:
VS300 DEPART LHR 22:00 ARRIVE DEL 10:40+1 VS301 DEPART DEL 13:25 ARRIVE LHR 17:55 VS300/301 operates with an Airbus A333-300 until 28th March 2015 VS300/301 operates with a Boeing 787-9 from 29th March 2015 Data: Airlineroute
This is loaded into the Virgin Atlantic booking engine, and available to book:
It’s good to see Virgin Atlantic has the confidence and commitment to India still, and deploy new equipment on this route – even through the recent route cuts.
In addition, the released aircraft will be used to form the 5th daily service between London Heathrow and New York-JFK, as flight VS111/VS112 operating the following:
VS111 DEPART LHR 12:30 ARRIVE JFK 15:10 VS112 DEPART JFK 20:35 ARRIVE LHR 08:15+1 VS111/112 commences 29th March 2015 Booked Equipment: Airbus A330-300 Data: Airlineroute
These are again loaded in the booking engine:
Virgin Atlantic will operate a total of five services a day between London and New York-JFK. Combined with Delta will make a eight times a day service between the two airports from late March 2015.
With an extra planes worth of capacity (33 Upper Class, 48 premium economy, 185 economy = 266 seats), that could make a dent on the London – New York market.

This is awesome! I’m surprised they’re not using the 787 to fly LHR-ATL.
