Qatar Airways have confirmed the first route the airline is to use their new Airbus A350 is to be Frankfurt.

The airline is planning to run the route from Early January 2015, replacing existing aircraft on the route. Both rotations between Doha and Frankfurt will be switched to the new A350, with QR067/068 making the first switch, followed by QR069/70 after a short while.
Capacity will be boosted with the A350s, and operated in a two-cabin layout:
- 36 Business Class Seats
- 247 Economy Class Seats
Qatar Airways will be getting 80 A350s, split across 37 A350-900s and 43 A350-1000s. Deliveries will be late in the year, allowing Qatar Airways to learning to use the aircraft and deploy it into the fleet.
Eight A350 aircraft should join the fleet in 2015.
