If you’re travelling between Dublin or Belfast City Airport to London Heathrow on British Airways, there’s a change coming with where you’ll be arriving/departing from at Heathrow from the 26th October 2015.
Flights from Heathrow to Dublin or Belfast City will switch from the quiet Terminal 1 to Terminal 5.
For those connecting, this will make life a lot easier, as this will bring down the connection time from 90 minutes across Heathrow to 60 minutes for an in-terminal change, with the full facilities that Terminal 5 offers… including a lack of a 1 mile hike through the “Green Mile” to get to the Irish gates at Heathrow.
However for every plus, there is a minus – and that’s for those British Airways passengers who are going back and forth to Barcelona, as they are chucked out Terminal 5 and into Terminal 3.
For those who with long haul or UK domestic connections from Barcelona, it’s worth checking to see if your connection times are still still valid.
However, Terminal 1 is emptying out further. It’s going to feel like a few sweets left in a very big tin.
