It’s been a bit quiet at Economy Class and Beyond as I’ve spent the week getting ready and delivering presentations at Frequent Traveler University this weekend… but here’s what I’ve covered this week:
In airline news, Etihad got the approval by the European Commission to take over Alitalia.
In new purchases, Delta has been busy, and turned to Airbus for its next long haul fleet renewal – going for the A330-900neo and A350-900. Meanwhile Airbus themselves are developing an updated of their Airbus Beluga transporter as they push ahead to improve component delivery.
Alaska Airlines add another route to their network, connecting Seattle-Tacoma to Washington Dulles International.
There was comedy in the air with a Blackpool hotel attempting to charge £100 for leaving a bad review before changing their mind.
I witness something worrying on a plane when people are moving around a plane during pushback (although some people think I’m thinking over the top).
And I continue to fight my fear of public speaking at FTU Amsterdam.
Next week, I’ll be getting a trip report in the works, as well as a couple of snapshot before the main event – as well as getting back to the grind of network and airline news you need to know – so you can make the decisions you need when you travel next.
Tally-Ho!
