Priority services on airlines can be a very mixed bag – however, SkyTeam has been pushing its members along to deliver a unified experience called “SkyPriority” – trying to unify the ground experience so it is constant between airlines.
SkyPriority offers:
- Priority check-in areas
- Priority baggage drop off
- Priority service at ticket/transfer desks
- Accelerated security and passport clearance (in select airports)
- Priority boarding
- Priority baggage handling
These services are offered to SkyTeam elite frequent flyers, or those who are flying business or first class.
In addition, the alliance is working with airports to roll out Security Fast Track services, and perhaps more interestingly – Fast Track Immigration.
Fast Track immigration has been rolled out to 21 airports so far.
This has been rolled out to the SkyTeam network of 1000 plus airports through its member carriers, with the alliance working with airports to improve features at major hubs.
SkyTeam have released a tool to help – pointing out the features at http://www.skyteam.com/en/Why-SkyTeam/Easy-Connections/SkyPriority-Finder/.
I popped in a route for fun – and the tool is pretty easy to use, giving some useful results…
For those of you who use SkyTeam as your primary alliance (Delta, Air France, KLM, Korean Air to name a few of the twenty members in the alliance), it should make travel a bit more uniform, and improve the experience you’ll go through each time when heading through the airport
