Snapshot: Hyatt Regency Birmingham (UK)

Earlier this week, fellow blogger and friend Muslim Travel Girl was in Birmingham and was staying at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham (as she has posted on her blog)

As I had just got back into town from visiting my folks, it would had been rude to pass up on an opportunity to catch up with a friend.

Location: The Hyatt Regency Birmingham is located opposite the International Convention Centre in Birmingham, on the top of Broad Street – and is part of the skyline of Birmingham. It’s around 10 minutes walk from the New Street Station complex, or a 3 minute taxi ride (in other words… walk). For me, it’s a 20 minute walk from my home.

And of course, this being a Hyatt, it was nicely appointed inside

I’ve been here a few times before – for office parties and to work with the IAAF in 2003, but I’ve never stayed in the rooms nor visted the club. Well today, the club would be visiting point, with an invite from Muslim Travel Girl.

The Club is on the 22nd floor of the hotel – and as such gives some nice views over the city of Birmingham.

The lounge itself was a nice quiet environment – not many people were using it during the day

The furnishings were comfortable, and the place was kept clean with a member of staff nearby – normally in the kitchen area.

The kitchen area had the usual sort of things for the days – nibbles, fruit and drink.

But most of all – the company was great!

Overall: My visit to the Hyatt Regency Birmingham was an interesting one. It was a great place to meet, chat and swap ideas. The only reson why I don’t pop in more often to this property is that it’s a 15-20 minute walk from my home.

Muslim Travel Girl has a full review of the property, with hints and tips, which makes great reading.

Thanks again to Muslim Travel Girl for the invitation.
